Saudi Arabia Putting Final Touches to Agreement with Sana’a

The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, put on Wednesday, the final touches to an expected agreement with “Houthis.”

Exclusive-alkhabar alyemeni:

Sources in the Presidential Council revealed that the meeting that brought together bin Salman, the president and members of the council late on Tuesday evening, was to review the draft “general framework for the political vision of the comprehensive peace process.”

The vision was approved by what is known as the Reconciliation and Consultation Commission, which is a mini-parliament, last Monday in Aden.

The sources stated that the vision prepared by the Saudi intelligence includes a general framework for negotiations between the Presidential Council in Aden and the Political Council in Sana’a, considering it the culmination of the ongoing negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh for months.

The sources considered subjecting the vision to the approval of the Yemeni forces loyal to the coalition as an attempt to impose it as a fait accompli, because it includes penalties against those who violate it, especially the Transitional Council and other forces opposed to the peace process.

In the context, the Transitional Council revealed the arrival of the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, to the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, on a second visit.

Saleh Abu Awdh, editor-in-chief of Al-Youm Al-Thani newspaper, affiliated with the Transitional Council, hinted that the ambassador would carry a message to those he described as “Houthis.” While diplomatic sources suggested that Al Jaber carries bin Salman’s response to proposals of Sana’a that he received during his first visit regarding the extension of the armistice.

the moves that coincide with the re-escalation of Sana’a, the latest of which are the threats made by the head of the Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, earlier Tuesday, during which he adhered to the need to open Sana’a airport and the port of Hodeida, indicating that Sana’a and Riyadh were close to reaching an agreement to extend the armistice.
