America confirms targeting its destroyer “Laboon” in the Red Sea

Maritime confrontations between Yemeni forces and American battleships renewed on Wednesday, according to the US Central Command.

The command stated in a statement that what it described as “Houthis” targeted the American destroyer USS Laboon with missiles and drones, claiming to have intercepted one missile and two drones.

These new clashes are part of a series of confrontations taking place in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden since Yemen’s decision to ban Israeli navigation in November and the attempts of America and Britain to break it, including launching aggression against Yemen.

The clashes indicate the failure of the US and its allies to contain Yemeni operations, as their battleships have become targets for such operations, threatening their military influence over the maritime routes in the region and the world, which they have monopolized for years.
