The European Union enhanced its forces in the Red Sea in anticipation of the new phase

On Saturday, the European Union strengthened its military fleet in the Red Sea, coinciding with the anticipation of the entry into force of the fourth phase of the Yemeni operations.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The European mission in the Red Sea, “Aspides,” announced in a statement the addition of a new frigate to the European fleet in the Red Sea.

The mission considered the inclusion of the frigate “Louise-Marie” as a contribution to facing the challenges in the region.

Belgium had withdrawn its frigate from the Mediterranean Sea before its arrival in the Red Sea as part of a European movement to reduce the military escalation in the Red Sea, which included the withdrawal of Danish, German, and French battleships.

The timing of the Belgian frigate’s return to the Red Sea indicates escalating European concerns about the consequences of the fourth phase of Yemeni escalation, which was announced by the leader of Ansar Allah, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, at the end of the previous week.

These movements indicate European expectations of significant operations by Yemeni forces, which succeeded over the past months of the Israeli war on Gaza in directing major strikes on ships associated with Israel or its allies, including American and Western battleships that were deployed to break the Yemeni blockade but failed.
