Repositioning of US forces as Yemeni operations enter the fourth phase

The US repositioned its forces in the Gulf on Saturday, coinciding with Yemen’s announcement of entering the fourth phase of escalation.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Navigational sources reported that the American battleships stationed in the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea, all the way to the Indian Ocean have changed their deployment map, moving away from their usual positions along shipping lanes close to Yemen.

This move coincides with changes in the deployment of US forces deployed in fixed bases in the Gulf countries.

The Wall Street Journal, citing US defense officials, confirmed that US forces have redistributed their warplanes and drones stationed at Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE to several bases in the region, including Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar and another base in Djibouti.

The US recently brought a squadron of fighter jets to the Emirates as part of arrangements for a joint maneuver in which Saudi Arabia and Israel participated within the defense alliance in the region.

The repositioning is part of a broad US military movement, according to American officials, aimed at enhancing air defense capabilities and declaring a state of alert at military bases in the Gulf, particularly those close to Yemen.

These movements come just one day after Yemen’s announcement of entering the fourth phase of Yemeni escalation against Israeli occupation and its allies.

This phase includes targeting all ships heading to Israeli ports through the Mediterranean, regardless of their nationality.

The US movements indicate concerns that this phase may include targeting US bases in the region, as the confrontation in Yemen is expected to escalate in the coming period with the onset of the fourth phase of escalation and the US forces’ attempt to contain it.
