UNRWA: Gaza’s children continue to suffer ‘unimaginable’

UNRWA said that the suffering of children in Gaza Strip from the war continues unimaginably. No child should face such horrific conditions; a ceasefire must be established now.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reported that 9 out of 10 children in the Strip suffer from severe food poverty, and Oxfam reported that many of them spend full days without food.

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that about 50 Palestinian children were counted suffering from malnutrition in just one week.

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions, Gazans, especially the Gaza and northern governorates, are on the brink of famine, with severe supplies of food, water, medicine and fuel scarce, with some two million Palestinians displaced from the enclave, which has been besieged by Israel for 18 years.
