Unidentified gunmen on Saturday launched a surprise attack on a police stati belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces in the southern port city of Aden, local sources said.
Local sources in the city said that gunmen believed to belong to another faction of the STC attacked the Al-Mamdra police station in Sheikh Othman district, injuring two, including a policeman.
The sources attributed the attack to the looting of a car of a citizen and the change of its paint in the color of the police.
Clashes broke out between citizens after a fight with hands and police officers, as police refused to hand over their car, the sources said.
