The Saudi-backed Islah party has pushed military reinforcements to Abyan province, in southern Yemen, YPA said.
According to sources loyal to the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC), Islah militants’ military reinforcements arrived in Shaqra area, coming from Shabwa.
The sources affirmed that the STC accused Islah of violating the Riyadh Agreement, which has been signed in November 2019 between the STC and the Hadi government to share power.
The military tensions between the two sides in Abyan came after armed attacks that killed and wounded nearly 70 members of the STC’s security belt in last November.
