The Executive Director of Sana’a-based Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC), Ammar Al-Adruree, confirmed on Friday the Saudi-led coalition is still holding 10 ships of oil derivatives, all of which obtained entry permits from the United Nations.
In a protest stand by the company’s employees in front of the United Nations office under the slogan “The Blockade of Fuel Ships: The Total Silent of War”, Al-Adhruee pointed to the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the arbitrary practices and maritime piracy on fuel ships by the United States under the UN cover.
He said, “A ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal caused more than 370 ships to stop, and the world moved to lift the blockade within a week. In Yemen, fuel ships are detained and piracy is done for more than 10 months. The Yemeni people incur fines of more than $ 150 million, and no life to whomsoever you are calling.”
Al-Adhruee pointed to the departure of two oil-derivative ships due to the long detention period, and before them the ship ‘Pendeg’ which was held for more than ten months, was withdrawn by the exporting company.
He stated the coalition seized two new ships carrying diesel, belonging to the private sector last week, and they were taken and detained next to the detained ships on the coast of Jizan, bringing the number of ships currently detained to 10 ships of oil derivatives.
The Executive Director renewed the call for the free people of the world to stand with the Yemeni people to stop the acts of piracy on fuel ships and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the cessation of many service sectors from providing their services to citizens.
Al-Adhruee renewed the call for the free world, free jurists, journalists, politicians and economists to stand by the Yemeni people and expose the acts of piracy practiced by the coalition countries led by the United States under the cover of the United Nations.
