UAE Forces Ban Travelers from “Hadhramaut and Mahrah” to Enter Socotra

Militias loyal to the UAE occupation forces in the Yemeni archipelago of Socotra have announced the closure of the archipelago to travelers from neighboring provinces (Mahrah- Hadhramout).

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on local sources.

The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) has banned the entry of any travelers from Hadhramaut and Mahrah, with the justification for limiting the outbreak of the coronavirus, local sources reported on Sunday.

Local sources said Socotra’s closure to Yemenis comes at a time when flights from UAE airports to the Indian Ocean island continue without any precautions.

The UAE-backed militias in Socotra have called for an autonomy for the island away from the south.
