A new Saudi initiative between Aden and Sana’a and the latter seeks international intervention

Sana’a demanded an international intervention in Aden, in conjunction with unveiling a new initiative between Sana’a and Aden through Saudi media, indicates the demands of Sana’a for acceptance.
Official media reported that Foreign minister of rescue government Hisham Sharaf sent letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, asking him to stop provocations against citizens from the Northern provinces and to stop abuses under the pretext of issuing passports from Sana’a.
This comes in the wake of coalition factions prevented a group of passengers to travel at Aden airport and land them from plane under the pretext that their passports were issued from Sana’a.
Sharaf considered this process as continuing to negative messages for Musacat negotiations and the international movement to push for a comprehensive political settlement.
He also stressed on the necessity of placing those factions on the sanctions list.
The messages were sent to the president and members of UN Security Council, G-18 ambassadors, and US and UN envoys.
The newspaper, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, affiliated with the Saudi government, published in a report what it described as a new initiative to open the main lines between Sana’a and Aden through Al-Dhale province, which is an open battleground.
It explained that the initiative was presented by the two chambers of commerce in Sana’a and Aden and the Civil Peace Coalition and approved by Hadi government, while it is still waiting for a response from what it called “Houthis” since12 days ago. Although the initiative on its surface appears to be of a humanitarian nature, through which the coalition is trying to implement several agenda, the first of which, according to observers, is to circumvent the international efforts, to conclude a comprehensive agreement that ends the war and lift the siege that has lasted for 7 years. The second is an attempt to impose a new fait accompli represented by turning fuel and food ships to Hodeida port.
In light of indications that the blockade imposed on Hodeida port failed to prevent ships from entering it, amid international pressure to open it.
