Aden: Activists Call for Demonstrations on Friday

Activists on social media in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, renewed on Thursday their call for the people to participate in major demonstrations on Friday.

The activists urged citizens to participate widely in protest against the collapse of economic conditions and the absence of basic services in the city.

They also called for pressure on the Saudi-backed Hadi’s government and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) to find radical solutions to the problems of the economy, the lack of electricity, water, salaries and the high cost of living.

The Yemeni southern provinces, under the Saudi-led coalition occupation, are experiencing a state of economic decline and the increase in foreign exchange rates against the riyal, which exacerbated the suffering of citizens.
