New Saudi Conditions Impede Return of Yemeni Expatriates

Saudi authorities have set new conditions for the admission of Yemeni expatriates stranded inside Yemen as part of their announced measures on COVID-19 restrictions.

In addition to obtaining two doses of corona vaccine, Saudi Arabia has also required a post-dose test confirming that the person is free of COVID-19, which would further complicate the return of Yemeni expatriates to Saudi territory, the Hadi embassy in Riyadh said.

Tens of thousands of Yemeni expatriates are still trapped inside Yemen awaiting two doses of COVID-19 vaccine, which reaches between the first and second doses from two to three months.
