YPC Accused Saudi Coalition of Looting Yemen’s Oil Wealth

The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sana’a on Wednesday revealed a new looting of Yemen’s oil wealth, with the continuation of piracy on oil derivatives ships paid for.

The official spokesman for YPC, Essam Al-Mutawakel, said in a press statement that the ship “Helen” arrived on Tuesday at “Radhom” port in Shabwa province, which will carry one million barrels of crude oil and will be sold for 72 million dollars in a new looting of the wealth of the Yemeni people.

Al-Mutawakel criticized the silence of the United Nations towards such acts, saying “While the oil derivatives ships are pirated, the oil wealth of the Yemeni people is looted, and we do not see any movement from the United Nations.”

A detained gasoline ship arrived two days ago at the port of Hodeida, the first since the beginning of 2021, which represents 5% of the actual need within 6 months in the normal case, he explained.
