Security Council Extends UN Mission in Hodeida Another year

The UN Security Council on Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution extending the mission of the United Nations Mission to Support Hodeida Agreement in Yemen (UNMHA) for a full year, until mid-July 2022.

The members of the Council (15 countries) voted unanimously during their session held at the permanent headquarters of the International Organization in New York, on the draft resolution, which was drafted by Britain and calls on all parties concerned with the Yemeni crisis to implement the agreement related to the city of Hodeida stipulated in the Stockholm Agreement.

The resolution urged the parties to work for the stability of Hodeida, through cooperation with the UN mission.
