The UAE forces transported a military shipment from Socotra Island to Al-Rayyan Airport in Mukalla city, Hadramaut province, local sources said on Monday.
The sources pointed out that the UAE weapons were transferred from the island, to be handed over to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.
The UAE move came after STC leaders threatened to ban meetings (Hadi’s government) and a group of pro-coalition parliamentarians in Seiyun, Hadhramaut.
For the second time, the STC’s leader Ahmed Bin Brik threatened to prevent meetings of Hadi’s government and Hadi parliament’s members in Seiyun city.
UAE forces have controlled Al Rayyan airport since 2016, when they turned it into a military barracks and a prison for opponents in Hadramaut.
