Mohammed Abdulsalam, Spokesman of Yemen’s Anssarallah Movement and senior negotiator of the Sana’a National Salvation Government, commented on Sunday on the appointment of Hans Grundberg as UN Special Envoy for Yemen, saying that there is no any dialogue before re-opening airports and ports.
Abdulsalam said on Twitter that the UN new appointment about Yemen does mean nothing unless there is an explicit declaration to stop the war and lift the siege.
“There is no any dialogue before re-opening airports and ports as a priority and a humanitarian necessity.” Abdulsalam said.
He called on the Saudi-led coalition countries to realize the suffering and destruction caused by their “aggression” and siege, warning against the continuation of their intransigence.
In an interview with Al-Alam TV, Abdulsalam said that that the real gateway to peace is to stop the war and lift the blockade on Yemen.
The head of Sana’a government negotiating delegation, said that if Saudi Arabia declares an end to the war and an end to the blockade, Sanaa is ready to provide assurances to Oman to make a statement directly welcoming the move and announcing the cessation of any steps by its forces.
He affirmed that Saudi Arabia can no longer stop the war alone, because the US has begun to put a great weight in the continuity of the war, for its strategic interests, whether at the level of escalation in the region, the sale of weapons or putting pressure on Saudi Arabia.
