Sana’a Accuses IMF of Dealing According to Political Agenda

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance in Sana’a government, Dr. Ahmed Hajar, on Monday said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lost its credibility because it deals with Sanaa according to a political agenda.

“If IMF is serious about giving a loan to the Yemeni people, the government of the fugitive Hadi should not be given the right to dispose of this loan,” Dr. Hajar stressed in a press release.

Dr. Hajar explained that Sana’a held talks with the Fund in 2020, during which all matters related to the national economy were clarified, noting that moving the Central Bank of Yemen to Aden aimed to put pressure on the Yemeni people.

He mentioned that one of the main problems in Yemen is the process of supplying basic commodities, especially food, medicine and oil derivatives.
