European Efforts to Restore Reconciliation between STC and “Legitimacy” Fail

UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grodenberg, knocked on Wednesday the Emirati gate in an attempt to achieve a breakthrough in the crisis file between “legitimacy” parties, which indicates the failure of European efforts in Aden to restore the transitional, which is pushing for escalation, to the bosom of Hadi again.

Exclusive -Alkhabar Alyemeni:

The UN envoy met with UAE State Counselor Anwar Gargash, where the two sides discussed efforts for a political solution, according to official Emirati media.

The meeting came hours after a similar meeting held by the ambassadors of the European Union in Aden with the President of the UAE backed Transitional Council, according to the Council’s media, the meeting devoted to discussing a return to Riyadh negotiations.

The sources indicated that Aidarous al-Zubaidi put conditions on Western diplomats, most notably the expulsion of Islah factions from Shabwah, Abyan and Wadi Hadramuwt, as well as the restructuring of Ministries of Defense and Interior and the formation of negotiating delegation in exchange for a return to the dialogue table in Riyadh.

He also stressed the need for all Hadi’s ministers to return to Aden and to include the council in the “fight against terrorism” and the protection of sea lanes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

These conditions, described by observers as “impossible,” indicate to the failure of the European mission that came from Saudi Arabia a few days ago, in the hope of pushing towards unifying the “legitimacy” factions in the south in order to push for a peace process in Yemen based on the two-state solution and in a way that preserves the face of coalition and the warlords in the region and the world after seven years of war and siege.
