Detainees Continue Hunger Strike in Shabwa

Dozens of detainees loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militias have continued in the hunger strike for the third day in prisons run by the Islah troops in Shabwa province.

According to human rights sources, the strike of detainees from the sons of Shabwa came to protest against the inhuman treatment and their subjection to various types of torture inside the prisons in the city of Ataq.

During the past months of this year, the Islah authorities sought to suppress all demonstrations against the continued acquisition of vast oil resources by the senior leaders and transfer them to Turkish banks.
