STC Shocks International Envoy by Rejecting “Legitimacy”

The pro-Emirati transitional council in southern Yemen pre-empted the meetings of the international envoy to Yemen, Hans Grodenberg, expected in Aden, with an escalation against “legitimacy” in an attempt to legitimize his authority in the city.

Exclusive-Alkhabar Alyemeni:

Ali Al-Kathiri, STC’s official spokesman, rejected Hadi’s recent decisions to appoint directors for the oil and refinery companies, in a tweet on his official page on social media; he considered this step an attempt to complicate the implementation of Riyadh Agreement and stressing on the need to adhere to the terms of the agreement.

Although the transitional can reject decisions by virtue of being the de facto authority, but his choice of political investment for appointment was considered by observers as an attempt to put pressure on the international envoy who arrived in Aden today, to restrict the meetings on the council’s leadership in a way that enhances the withdrawal of “legitimacy rug” which the transitional succeeded in hijacking it during the recent visit of the American envoy to the city.
