The Yemeni Oil Company affiliated with the Sana’a government said on Tuesday that the coalition is “looting Yemen’s wealth of crude oil, with approximately $165 million per month, which is sufficient to pay the salaries of employees that have been cut off for years,” accusing the United Nations of participating in “piracy on oil derivatives ships.”
In a vigil held by the company with Water and Sanitation Corporation, the participants emphasized that the lack of oil derivatives leads to catastrophic damage to health and environment sectors and it leads to the spread of diseases as a result of the sewage treatment plant’s failure to work and stop.
The corporation said in a statement that “the lack of fuel will lead to a complete shutdown in the operating wells’ generators, almost 70 wells extract approximately (1,150,000) cubic liters, as well as stopping the sewage treatment plant, maintenance mechanisms and equipment as a result of the detention and blockade of oil derivatives ships, and depriving nearly five million people in the capital and the displaced from clean drinking water.”
The statement explained “the continuous siege and piracy on oil ships and their detention for long periods of time, as a result of which the Yemeni people are incurring financial fines, which amounted to hundreds of millions of dollars during their varying periods of detention, where their arbitrary measures, aim to “genocide” against the Yemeni people.
The oil company indicated that the last ship seized by the coalition was “the ship (Ce Lion), which was loaded with 29,546 tons of diesel, to be add to the rest of ships detained off the coast of occupied Jizan, for nearly 83 days, they are crimes of genocide.”
In the statement, the company held the United Nations responsible for all the consequences of the lack of oil derivatives, the deprivation of millions of drinking water, the avoidance of catastrophic health and environmental damage and the spread of diseases as a result of the sewage treatment plant’s failure and its cessation of work.
“This is considered a war crime against the Yemeni people, an environmental disaster and a threat to the lives of millions,” the YPC said in a statement.
The participants in the protest emphasized that the United Nations had become a key partner in piracy on oil derivatives ships.
“Throughout the duration of the war and the siege, only briefings in the Security Council were heard from the UN. These briefings do not operate factories or hospitals,” it added.
The statement of the YPC affirmed that the United Nations continues to practice human desolation with the full will of its officials against the oppressed and patient Yemeni people. It pointed out that its continued complicity with the forces of global arrogance in their fascist crimes against Yemenis has increased the pace of war and siege and the killing of civilians through the military machine.
It explained that the continuous siege and piracy on oil ships inflicted the Yemeni people with fines that amounted to hundreds of millions of dollars during their varying periods of detention.
The statement added that compromising the forces of arrogance and the officials in the UN with the necessary and basic needs of Yemenis is the cheapest and dirtiest method that exposed their false masks and exposed their false claims about human rights and their constant theorizing about values and morals.
“Their claim, in fact, is nothing but an attempt to dissuade our people from liberating its entire lands and purifying all its cities, villages, valleys, mountains, airspace and seas from the occupiers and their mercenaries,” it added.
The statement said that the continuation of the forces of Saudi coalition in their siege against the Yemeni people and their permanent piracy on their basic needs of oil derivatives are crimes of genocide.
