Coalition Forces Prevent Yemenis from Fishing in Red Sea

Saudi-led coalition forces continued to block Yemeni fishermen in the Red Sea and prevent them from reaching fishing grounds off Hodediah coast, Yemen News Portal, reported based on the testimony of fishermen.

According to the fishermen, the coalition helicopters are hovering over their heads and preventing them from reaching fish breeding grounds, forcing them working in shallow water areas where fish are rarely present.

They said the coalition’s actions threatened the livelihood of thousands of fishing workers and deprived their families of their livelihoods.

They noted that the coalition allows foreign ships to operate in Yemeni waters and dredge fish, coral reefs and the marine environment, stressing that this act poses threat to the Yemeni fish wealth.
