Coalition Bombs Islah’s Reinforcements in Marib

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes have “mistakenly” bombed their own troops in the Yemeni province of Marib, leaving several Saudi-backed forces dead or injured, Yemen News Portal on Sunday, based on the testimonies of local sources.

According to the sources, the coalition’s warplanes mistakenly targeted reinforcement for Islah forces in Al-Akd area of Wadi Abeida directorate, south of Marib.

This is not the first time that the Saudi coalition targets their own positions, the sources added.

Saudi-backed Islah Party pushed military reinforcements from Abyan province, south of Yemen, towards the city of Marib.

Local sources in the Marib said that these reinforcements came to reinforce the fronts of the city of Marib, which is now close to the fall in the Sana’a forces’ hands.

The sources confirmed Islah had previously withdrawn large numbers of its fighters and members of Al-Qaeda from Abyan during the last period to the fronts in Marib and Shabwa, which Sana’a forces were able to make significant field advances after violent battles, which the coalition forces and Islah militants suffered heavy losses.
