IFJ Calls on Coalition to Release Journalists from Prisons

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) called for the release of journalists from prisons run by the Saudi-led coalition forces in Hadramout province, east of Yemen.

“The female journalist, Hala Badawi, immediately must be released and her equipment must be restored, it is unacceptable to harass and detain their media because of their work, and officials must be accounted for this attack,” Anthony Bellanger, the General Secretary of IFJ.

Last December, the military intelligence of the coalition had kidnapped Badhawi in Hadramout, and confiscated her personal telephone and collectibles due to her opinions published on media social websites and her criticism of living conditions.
