Coalition’s Ceasefire Makes No Sense without Lift Blockade: Houthis

A senior leader in Anssarallah’s Political Bureau, Mohammed al-Bukhiti, has commented on Saudi-led coalition announcement on the cessation of its military operation in Yemen.

“The coalition’s announcement to stop its military operations would make no sense as the siege continues, Mohammed Nasser al-Bukhiti said.

“The blockade imposed on Yemen is a military action because it is imposed by force of arms and if the blockade is not lifted, the declaration of halting the coalition’s military operations will not make sense,” Al-Bukhiti tweeted on Wednesday.

“The suffering of Yemenis as a result of the blockade is greater than the military war itself, which means that our military operations aimed at breaking the blockade will continue.”

The Saudi-led coalition announced today that it would suspend its military operations, just before the deadline for accepting peace initiative announced by Mahdi al-Mashat, president of the Supreme Political Council (SPC) in Sana’a.

However, the coalition did not announce the lifting of blockade on the arrival of ships carrying basic materials of food, medicine and oil derivatives to the port of Hodeidah.
