Saudi-led Coalition Seizes “Viviana” Diesel-Loaded Ship: YPC

Sana’a-based Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) on Monday said that the US-backed Saudi-led coalition seized a diesel-loaded ship, in a new violation of the armistice.

The company’s official spokesman, Issam Al-Mutawakel, explained that “the Saudi coalition seized the ship ‘Viviana’, which was loaded with more than 28,000 tons of diesel.”

He added that the coalition continues to detain oil derivatives ships despite they are being inspected and obtaining UN permits to enter the port of Hodeida.

Al-Mutawakel stressed that “the continued detention of fuel ships by the Saudi coalition doubles the human suffering of the Yemeni people.”

He noted that the United Nations has not taken any positive action to curb piracy on fuel ships.
