Shabwa: Oil Company Employee Kidnapped

The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces on Wednesday kidnapped an employee of the oil company in Shabwa and took him to an unknown destination.

Human rights sources explained to Yemen press agency that Shahwan al-Qamaishi was arbitrarily abducted by the STC’s militias, which the UAE brought from “Dhalea and Yafea” to Shabwa, without giving reasons.

The STC had launched a large-scale campaign of arrests against the people of Shabwa and looting their property after storming a number of houses since it took control of the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa, over the past two weeks.

On the other hand, Shabwani activist Farid al-Awlaki mocked the STC, saying: “They sent from Aden to Ataq thousands of military and armored vehicles, and did not send a single diesel truck for electricity, a difference between the project of life and the project of death.”

Al-Awlaki added that the STC militia has offered nothing to the people of Aden for seven years except death, assassinations, devastation and destruction.
