Ambassador Richard Oppenheim indicated during a meeting with Rashad Al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Council loyal to the coalition, that these offers related to the file of opening roads.

The ambassador, who had warned earlier against war return in Yemen, had intensified his meetings during the past hours in parallel with an international movement led by the United States and the ambassadors of the permanent members of the Security Council, with the aim of putting pressure on the presidential authority to extend the armistice, which expires on the second of October.

Diplomatic sources had reported earlier that the offers also included a total opening of Sana’a airport and the port of Hodeida, and the start of disbursing salaries to all state employees, and it is expected that the proposals will be discussed during the round, which is expected to be launched in the next few days. For its part, Islah-affiliated media quoted on a source in Maeen government delegation as saying that the discussion in the new round of negotiations in which Sana’a Military Committee participates focuses on extending the armistice.

He denied that there had been extremism in the file of opening roads, which was required by Maeen government through it, it is trying to block any efforts to achieve new progress, despite Sana’a’s initiatives regarding Taiz.

Sana’a stresses on the need to expand the armistice by addressing a necessity such as salaries, lifting the total blockade on Hodeida port and Sana’a airport before going into the extension of the truce, which international parties are seeking to be longer this time.
