The State of Kuwait began withdrawing on Tuesday, its projects from the areas of Transitional Council, southern Yemen, as the third country to approve the isolation of the pro-Emirati council that calls for the secession of the south.
Tribal sources in Shabwah reported that Kuwait Relief Society decided to withdraw several projects from the oil province, including a project to drill five artesian wells.
The decision of the association to suspend its activities in the southern governorates came since STC took control, in conjunction with the announcement by the new Kuwaiti ambassador to Yemen, his country’s commitment to preserving Yemen’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; this indicates that the latest move is part of a new official trend.
Kuwait is the third country to endorse STC boycott. The Kingdom of Jordan preceded it by rejecting the council’s request to open an office for dialogue in it, according to the Jordanian journalist Waheed Al-Tawalbeh.
The Sultanate of Oman is also apprehensive about his movements in the areas adjacent to it, after targeting Yemeni-Omani Telecom Company in Aden and closing its headquarters there.
