UAE Pushes New Reinforcements to Shabwa

A new batch of Emirati military reinforcements arrived on Saturday, in the oil-rich province of Shabwa, eastern Yemen.

Eyewitnesses said that several UAE military vehicles carrying dozens of militia members entered the city of Ataq, the Shabwa provincial capital, during the past hours, coming from Mukalla.

They explained, before reaching Ataq city, the reinforcements crossed Khamir area on Mukalla Road, after sending military reinforcements from militias belonging to Dhalea and Lahj, coming from the western coast and Abyan, south of Yemen.

The UAE continues to reinforce its militias in Shabwa after taking control militarily last month, after violent confrontations with Islah militants entered the city of Ataq and Jardan, which left hundreds dead and wounded.
