The Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al-Jaber, placed two new conditions in return for the payment of salaries, proceeds to the Central Bank for salary disbursement according to the 2014 statements.

He linked any progress in extending the armistice to the opening of Taiz roads. He also demanded to reach a comprehensive cease-fire.

The American envoy had arrived in Saudi Arabia, as part of his new tour in the region, which included the Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman as part of US efforts to extend the armistice.

salaries are the most prominent conditions that Sana’a adheres to in exchange for extending the truce, which international parties seek to be longer this time.

Al-Arabiya TV reported that Gulf Cooperation Council requested pressure on what it described as “Houthis” to engage in a comprehensive peace agreement.

Saudi Arabia and UAE are apprehensive about plans to extend the armistice in Yemen. They had previously launched a media attack on the movements of the new American envoy; they accused his country of trying to link the Yemeni file to Iran file, which Lenderking denied in a statement for the Saudi newspaper, Asharq Al-Awsat.

The countries that have been leading a war and siege on Yemen for eight years are also afraid from Yemen file to turn into an American blackmail base for them in light of the differences over increasing energy production and reducing oil prices.
