Emirati Forces Arrive to Yemen’s “Abdul Kuri” Island

New Emirati forces arrived on the island of Abd al-Kuri, in the Socotra archipelago, in the far south of Yemen.

Informed sources said on Thursday that dozens of members of the Emirati forces arrived on helicopters at a newly developed Emirati military base on Abd al-Kuri Island, coming from Hadibo Airport.

The sources pointed out that the new forces will deploy on the strategic island along with units of the Transitional Council factions.

The UAE had completed the establishment of a military base in Abd al-Kuri, with direct participation with the Israeli forces, with the aim of expanding its control over maritime navigation routes in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
