Sana’a: 36 Tons of Expired Foodstuffs Destroyed

Public Health and Population Office in the Capital Sana’a, represented by the Environmental Health Department, destroyed on Tuesday 36 tons of damaged and expired tea, coffee and food.

Director of the capital Sana’a Health Office Mutahar al-Marwani said the damaged tons were destroyed after completing the legal procedures.

Al-Marwani stated that the field control teams targeted more than 50 food institutions to ensure compliance with health requirements and seized 30 violations and seized damaged, expired and non-conforming materials.

He stressed that the field teams will monitor food institutions that violate health standards and they will destroy expired materials that do not conform to specifications and standards.
