Sana’a Condemns UAE “Occupying” Power’s Creation of Rules on Myon Island

The Ministry of Fisheries in Sana’a government deplored the expansionist settlement work being carried out by the “UAE occupying power and its mercenaries”, and the creation of military bases on the strategic island of Myon.

According to SABA news agency, the Ministry condemned on Thursday Abu Dhabi’s endeavours to establish military buildings and bases for UAE occupying forces, separating Myon Island, that mediates the Bab al-Mandeb Strait of the province of Taiz and combined with in the southern provinces under “UAE occupation”.

The Ministry affirmed that the move constitutes a flagrant violation of Yemeni sovereignty and is part of the coalition forces’ movements to control the vital Bab al-Mandeb, a service to the “Zionist enemy”.

The statement noted the ongoing violations committed by the UAE against Myon fishermen, and other fishermen in the occupied areas, their displacement and the looting of their property, with a view to establishing military bases to serve US-Zionist schemes in the region.

The Ministry called on the United Nations and human rights and humanitarian organizations to act seriously to stop these violations.
