Direct Negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh in Dhahran al-Janoub

Media outlets affiliated with Islah reported on Sunday, the re-activation of Dhahran Al-Janoub meetings between Sana’a and Riyadh.

This comes on the eve of intelligence reports about Saudi dis-satisfaction with the Omani mediation.

The party’s channels claimed that a committee led by Major General Yahya Al-Razami, head of the military committee in negotiations, arrived in Dhahran Al-Janoub, southern Saudi Arabia, to revive the meetings between Sana’a and Riyadh despite the appearance of Al-Razami, according to what was reported by official media in Sana’a visiting Imam Ali Mosque in the Yemeni capital, on the Friday of Rajab.

Those sources reported that the meetings centered on border security, noting that the discussions revolved around establishing a buffer zone or deploying international observers.

Although Sana’a had previously revealed meetings in Dhahran al-Janoub regarding the situation on the border, it did not succeed during the past war years.

However, the recent meetings, if true, are an indication to a development in the negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh and it reflects its transition to direct meetings after it remained subject to regional mediation, especially since it coincides with the publication of a new report by the “Intelligence Online” website, which is affiliated with French intelligence, about Saudi dissatisfaction with Omani mediation.
