A number of military commanders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia, were killed on Tuesday by an attack with explosive devices in Abyan province, southern Yemen.
Local sources in the province said that the chief of operations of the so-called “Fifth Support Brigade,” Abdullah Sa’ad Barjeela, and the operations officer of the “First Battalion” in the Fifth Brigade, Meshaal Al-Elayani, were killed when their vehicles were targeted with four explosive devices in Al-Baqira area, east Modiya district.
The sources added that the explosions left a number of dead and wounded among the escorts of Barjeela and Al-Elayani, at the entrance to Omran Valley in the district.
