US forces carry out a deployment in Bab Al-Mandeb and reveal the mission

In Bab Al-Mandeb, off the western coast of Yemen, US forces began a new redeployment on Saturday.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The US forces have reported about their deployment near the island of Mewon, according to intelligence sources connected to Tariq Saleh, who also noted the deployment of groups on small marine boats that are currently patrolling the area.

Following information being spread by activists about a ship carrying roughly 40 Marines being targeted, the US has repositioned its forces.

These developments occur just a few days after the US Fifth Fleet, stationed in Bahrain, announced the deployment of extra forces in the Red Sea, consisting of 3,000 soldiers and two amphibious and assault ships.

High-level diplomatic sources revealed details about the decision by the US to enhance its deployment in the Red Sea, which is the most crucial maritime passage for Saudi oil to reach Asian markets, particularly China.

The American move, according to the sources, intends to limit any Saudi reaction to the recent accord reached between Washington and Tehran, which included the exchange of prisoners and the release of almost $10 billion of Iran’s frozen funds.

The American decision to deploy in the Red Sea was made as a warning to Riyadh of the consequences of any rebellion against the White House, according to the sources, who also revealed that the Americans anticipated a Saudi move towards enabling China in Bab Al-Mandeb.

Saudi expert Suleiman Al-Aqeeli had previously affirmed in a tweet that the American deployment sends a message more to the Gulf states than to Iran, hinting that rapprochement with Iran has resulted from the recent expansion of ties between Saudi Arabia and China.

Since Biden’s rise to power in the United States and his adoption of insulting policies towards the Saudi royal family, US-Saudi relations have begun to witness crises. These policies include the threat to isolate Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and pursue other leaders for crimes against human rights, as well as the murder of the dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
