The dollar is worth 1500 Yemeni rials, and the government expects a further collapse

The price of the dollar exchange rate in Aden approached 1500 rials on Tuesday, amid government expectations of a potentially catastrophic collapse that could bring the dollar to more than 2500 rials in a short period of time, in a continuation of the gradual collapse of the national currency in the coalition-controlled areas of southern Yemen.

Follow-up / Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The price of the dollar exchange rate in Aden was 1,465 Yemeni rials yesterday, while the Saudi riyal reached 387 rials, according to Saudi’s Al Hadath channel.

In an interview with Al-Ayyam newspaper at the end of August, the governor of the Central Bank in Aden indicated that the bank is experiencing a substantial deficit and that earnings don’t cover 40% of the expenses, indicating that the deposit alone is insufficient.
