On Sunday, the Muslim Brotherhood’s wing in Yemen announced that Saudi authorities had made new arrests targeting its leadership.

According to Mukhtar Al-Rahbi, the director of Al-Mahriah Channel affiliated with the party, Saudi authorities arrested Rabee Al-Al-Akemi, the brother of the former Al-Islah governor in Al-Jawf, Amin Al-Akemi, indicating that the arrest occurred as Al-Akemi arrived with his wife and children at King Abdulaziz Airport in Riyadh.
Al-Rahbi didn’t provide an explanation for the arrest, but he did say that it was part of a string of arrests that targeted several party leaders in Saudi Arabia.
After being placed under house arrest in Saudi Arabia for several months and being dismissed from his position, Amin Al-Akemi succeeded in fleeing to Turkey.
Saudi Arabia accuses Al-Akemi of corruption and conspiring with what it describes as the “Houthis.”
It is worth mentioning that the Al-Islah Party has recently escalated its actions against Saudi Arabia after being excluded from negotiations led by the Sultanate of Oman with Sana’a.
Additionally, the party has threatened a coup in Marib, bringing its armed factions, known as the “Resistance,” back to the forefront of the scene.
