As the war entered its second month without significant progress, the Israeli occupation forces acknowledged on Monday the failure of the ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni / Tel Aviv:
General Giora Eiland, the former head of Israeli national security and head of the Planning Department in the Israeli occupation army, called Gaza the world’s most fortified target, emphasizing that his forces were not up against individuals but rather a system executing complex and coordinated operations using anti-armor missiles, mortar shells, and marches.
During an interview with the Hebrew Channel 12, Eiland expressed astonishment at Hamas’ ability to move forces from one place to another and its quick response capabilities. He pointed out that the movement controls 80% of the underground network.
He also confirmed that he has not seen any progress in achieving the goal of breaking Hamas, as they continue to shell Israeli settlements and demonstrate proficient leadership in the battle on the ground.
Eiland is the most prominent theorist of the policy of displacing the population of Gaza to Sinai.
These acknowledgements coincide as the confrontation in the Gaza Strip enters its second month, with the occupation forces failing to make significant progress on the ground despite extensive aerial, ground, and naval bombardment, using various types of internationally prohibited shells and bombs exceeding 25,000 tons.
