Spokesman of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), James Elder, said that children’s injuries as a result of the war in the Gaza Strip are “horrific.
“This came in a video clip from a hospital in the southern Gaza Strip. The video clip showed the conditions of many injured Gazan children who were transferred from AlShefa Medical Complex in Gaza City to “Nasser” Hospital in southern Gaza.
“I apologize for showing these horrific images of wounded children in Gaza, but since children have to endure this, it is necessary for the world to see what the children of Gaza are exposed to,” Elder said.
He stressed that “UNICEF and other United Nations agencies, in cooperation with the Palestinian and Egyptian Red Crescent Societies, are delivering emergency medical supplies, food, and water to local communities in Gaza.”
