American confirmation Red Sea free of battleships

The US confirmed on Saturday the withdrawal of its battleships from the Red Sea.

This coincides with the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier being pulled out of the Gulf.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The US Central Command stated in a recent statement that it received three calls on Friday from commercial ships reporting attacks off the coast of Yemen. It emphasized that it maintained contact with those ships, clearly indicating the absence of American battleships in the Red Sea and ruling out any new rescue operations, as previously mentioned by the US Department of Defense, or even escorting ships as promised earlier.

The statement claims that the “MSC ALANYA” was contacted by Yemeni forces, who asked that it alter its course. Another ship, named “AL JASRAH,” was targeted by a drone attack that caused a fire on board. Additionally, a third attack with a ballistic missile targeted the ship named “MV PALATIUM 3.”

The statement considered these recent three attacks as clear evidence of significant risks, a clear indication of ships heading to Israeli ports changing its destination and the inability to secure it.

The US had announced several weeks ago the deployment of the USS Carney and USS Mason battleships to secure navigation in the Red Sea, following the escalating Sana’a operations there.

Via a spokesman on Friday, Sana’a declared that its forces had attacked two cargo ships flying the Liberian flag after their crews had ignored Sana’a’s calls.

Sana’a forces impose a ban on the passage of all ships heading to Israeli ports in solidarity with Gaza.

It is unclear if the US battleships’ withdrawal from the Red Sea was motivated by worries about being targeted in view of the repeated warning attacks or by their failure to break the Yemeni blockade. The reasons for the withdrawal have not yet been made clear.

It is worth mentioning that US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated in a press conference that his country would focus on protecting its ships that do not pass through the Red Sea, emphasizing that the Red Sea is an international problem.
