American confirmation of Israeli ship destruction in the Red Sea

An Israeli oil ship suffered significant damage as a result of an attack by Sana’a in the Red Sea, according to confirmation by the US Department of Defense yesterday.

The US-based Alhurra channel quoted an official from the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, as saying that the USS Carney battleship is currently assessing the extent of the damage inflicted on the “Swan Atlantic” ship.

The official verified that a ballistic missile and a drone had targeted the ship.

Media reports predicted the sinking of the ship, which belongs to the Israeli company Ofer, citing severe damages.

The Israeli ship is one of two ships that Sana’a, through its spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed were targeted by drones in the past few hours in the Bab Al-Mandeb strait.
