Britain confirms the intervention of its battleships to rescue an American ship in the Red Sea

Britain confirmed on Wednesday the intervention of its battleships in the Red Sea to rescue an American ship targeted by the Yemeni navy.

Defense Minister Grant Shapps stated that the HMS Diamond destroyer intervened after the American ship was targeted by what he described as the “Al-Houthis,” noting that it opened fire with its cannons and fired Sea Viper missiles during the attack.

Shapps did not disclose further details about the attack or the extent of the damage.

The statement by the British minister confirms the inability of the American ship to intercept the aerial and naval attack from Sana’a, supporting reports that indicate damage to the targeted American battleship by Sana’a’s attack.
