The British Newspaper: Yemen’s conflict with the West enhances its weight as a regional power

A report published by the British newspaper “The Economist” states that the Yemeni government in Sana’a “has positioned itself in a conflict with the most powerful force in the Middle East and the global superpower,” downplaying the significance of recent American and British strikes and noting that “Sana’a has withstood similar strikes for nine years.”

Follow-ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The report explains that “Sana’a has previously proven its ability to withstand a Saudi-led military coalition that has invaded the country since March 2015.”

The British periodical report adds that “at the time, Saudi officials believed that they could end the war in six weeks, but after nine years have passed, it has turned into them still trying to extricate themselves from the Yemeni quagmire.”

The report points out that “Saudi Arabia mostly fought from above, and the airstrikes have proven ineffective in weakening Yemen,” emphasizing that Yemen’s conflict with the West increases its popularity in the Arab world and enhances its weight as a regional power.

The report, which did not hide its clear alignment with the American-British alliance, concludes that “it is unlikely that the Ansar Allah movement (forces of Sana’a) will be deterred, as they have emerged stronger from a nine-year war.”
