The UAE continues to deplete the wealth of Socotra Island

As part of the extensive looting operations carried out by Abu Dhabi in recent years, targeting “dozens of rare trees and animals, transferring them to its lands,” an Emirati ship has looted significant quantities of rare trees and plants from the Yemeni island of Socotra.

Informed sources have revealed that an Emirati ship departed from the port of Hulaf last week, carrying large quantities of rare trees and plants that were uprooted and transported from their original habitat on the island.

Environmental experts had previously warned that “the UAE’s continued process of uprooting rare trees on the island threatens the extinction of the rare plant diversity in the natural reserve.”
