Martyrdom and injury of 52 civilians due to cluster bombs and war remnants since the beginning of2024

The National Committee for Mine Action documented the martyrdom and injury of 52 civilians, mostly women and children, due to the explosion of cluster bombs and war remnants in several governorates since the beginning of the year 2024.

The committee clarified in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that these remnants resulted in the martyrdom of 17 individuals and the injury of 35 since the beginning of the current year.

It pointed out that the deaths of 300 civilians were documented during the year 2023, including 108 martyrs, most of whom were children and women.

It confirmed that with these numbers of casualties, work related to the removal of war remnants is still suspended for the ninth consecutive month by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
