America reveals the construction of the largest bomber base on the Yemeni side of the Indian Ocean

On Thursday, the US revealed the construction of the largest military base on the Yemeni side of the Indian Ocean.

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The American Associated Press agency published satellite images showing the establishment of a base on the Yemeni island of Socotra, which is controlled by the UAE and Saudi Arabia and where American, Israeli, and British forces are present.

The agency indicated that the images show the preparation of the longest airstrip extending about three kilometers from the north to the south of the island.

The agency reported that the base is being prepared to serve as a landing strip for military aircraft, including strategic bombers owned by the US. It further explained that the base will also serve as a first line of defense that includes for reconnaissance, attack, and surveillance operations.

Among the images published by the agency is a writing by the workers that says, “We are the Emirates.” However, it quoted Emirati officials as stating that their work on Socotra is “humanitarian.”

The publication of these images comes days after American reports about intention to establish an advanced base on the island located at the intersection of the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea.

These developments coincide with Yemen’s decision to expand its naval operations in the Indian Ocean, reflecting American concerns about the consequences of Yemeni operations that have proven effective in targeting ships associated with the Israeli occupation. However, the targeting of a similar base in Zaqar by Yemeni forces threatens the future presence of America and other allies in Socotra.
