Gaza launches urgent distress appeal

The Health Palestinian Ministry in Gaza Strip issued an urgent appeal to the international community and its international and relief institutions to provide generators to hospitals in Gaza Strip, and warned of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said it had relied on generators for nine months to supply hospitals with the necessary electricity around the clock after the destruction of the only power plant in Gaza Strip.

“A number of generators in hospitals suffered major technical failures that are difficult to repair، and others were directly destroyed by Israeli forces،” the ministry said.

It added that the ministry continues its contacts with international institutions, especially the International Committee of the Red Cross.
