UNRWA:10 children lose one or two legs in Gaza every day

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that ten children lose one or two legs every day in the Gaza Strip.

“Basically, every day we have 10 children who lose one or two legs on average,” Lazzarini told in a press conference at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. He explained that those figures did not include children who had lost upper limbs.

He explained that he is based on figures issued by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
